Well, something like it XD It's bound not to be as great as any of the other doujins you may see, but I'm really trying. It's an original story about a group of high school freshmen ( I think I just contradicted the 'original' part) who deal with the usual and not-so-usual problems. It's not set in Japan, it's not set in USA, it's set right here (for me) in Canada, so these 'freshmen' are really grade niners. The reason being is one, I grew up with this school system, and two diversity is such a big thing in my life and here in Ontario I've seen a lot of it. Having a teen 'growing up' story set in either the States or Japan would tempt me into clichés even moreso than I am now. I've been working on a title page, themes and some character sheets/sketches that I may post up waaay after. I'm using a simple, chibi style--or as a certain friend of mine says, "My Sims" style--but I want to put more effort into my art than I usually do. I'm actually pretty excited for it, even if it will be one of those things that fade in away behind greater works of art and the only people that care are close friends.

I got my two main characters almost fully developed, and I'm throwing in many more. Have any suggestions for a "Canadian" last name? Her name is Susanna, but she gets called Suzie. All the ones I looked up sound French or Asian. How hilarious that that one is the one I have most trouble with. I'm proud of my other character's name, and I hope there is no uproar over it. Basically, the dad is one of those cruel ones who doesn't spend time thinking about the meaning, origin, heritage, etc... When his wife had the last name "Chi", he thought to take the Vietnamese name Ly and make it Ly Chi. (Lychee, anyone?) Ah... I'm so crazy.

So yes. That's really all I had to say. Dunno if it will ever be up, but I'm excited. Excuse me while I fail draw some more.
